Blechynden Limited is a consultancy firm owned and managed by Bill Boyle which offers services primarily to the oil and gas industry on performance measurement, management, measurement and communication related to environment, safety and other sustainability issues. Bill is a trained facilitator and experienced presenter, with strong interpersonal and management skills.

Bill Boyle worked for BP for almost 30 years until retiring at the end of 2008 as Director of Performance within its Safety and Operations function, which covers all 'HSE' issues such as health, social responsibility, security and environment, as well as personal, driving and process safety. In this role, Bill reviewed and reported operational performance to BP's main board and to the chief executive's Group Operations Risk Committee. He was responsible for the definition of HSE performance metrics at the BP Group level, for benchmarking against BP peers and for external reporting on HSE issues, including the BP Annual Report and the BP Sustainability Report.  During his career Bill provided leadership within BP on a number of major environmental issues, including climate change, particularly greenhouse gas reduction targets, measurement and reporting; and envorinmental and health monitoring systems, including assessment of ambient air, soil contamination, water quality and occupational exposure.  Bill's experience also includes policy, strategy, planning and management systems related to HSE, sustainability and other non-financial aspects of corporate governance.

He is currently actively supporting the oil industry at an international level through IPIECA and OGP, facilitating key meetings and advising on strategy, communications, emerging environmental issues, safety metrics and sustainability reporting.   HIs recent clients have included RasGas, Maersk Oil, BP, Petronas and Hydro.
